Ira Glass explains producing…more or less.

Here at RSV, we love Ira Glass and “This American Life.”  We also know that producing a video, a documentary or a short film can take a bit more effort than some clients or viewers realize. That’s why we smiled a little watching this Filmmaker magazine interview with Ira just before the Sundance Festival. Ira is co-writer and producer of “Sleepwalk with Me,” his first feature film.

Did we mention that we love Ira?

Flying high on short notice.

RSV Partners Bill and Elliot Burlingham headed down to Tuskegee, Ala. last week to produce this documentary short for Tom Joyner’s BlackAmericaWeb.com channel highlighting Tom’s family history with the Tuskegee Airmen and the new movie “Red Tails” coming out this weekend! Including story planning, travel, taping and post-production, this quality project was finished within a week. It’s typical of  all the work we do at Really Simple Video – we tell great stories affordably, distinctively and with great production values.

We write, we shoot, we webcast.

Really Simple Video’s bread-and-butter is custom video for our clients, which include corporations and leading nonprofits to colleges and universities. (We work for individual consultants and authors, too.)

But that’s not our only focus. RSV also creates live web broadcasts for audiences large and small. Here’s what we do:

  • We webcast for viewers within a company or institution or for large paying audiences around the world.
  • We can webcast from your location or from our soundstage in Evanston.
  • We custom-design a viewing portal with your logo including an “On Demand” feature archiving past webcasts.
  • We do turnkey pay-per-view webcast setup that includes online subscriptions and payment.
  • We offer writing services for any presentation material necessary for your webcast.

We webcast annual meetings, lectures, announcements and presentations of all kinds.

At RSV, we apply broadcast production values to all our webcasts and we archive all camera footage in HD in case you need that material for future projects.

Take a look at our most recent work for Chicago-based architectural design firm Cannon Design and their recent live presentation by Taryn Mead of the Biomimicry Guild in Los Angeles. (Click on the “On Demand” tab and select the broadcast.)

Here it begins.

Welcome to the studio space at Really Simple Video at 1904 Greenwood Street in Evanston, Ill. (It’s deceptively quiet right now.)

And welcome to our blog as well – we’ll be using this space and our pages on Facebook and Twitter to tell you about our latest work.

Though we do as many productions on the road as here in studio (home to Burlingham Productions), our mission is the same – to help people, businesses and institutions tell their story affordably, distinctively and with great production values.

Take a minute to meet the RSV team, and take a look at our projects. Lisa Holton is primary contact at RSV, and you’ll be hearing more about us and the projects we do.
